Sometimes when crazy things are happening all you can do is stay calm and try to make productive use of your time. Some of my favourite activities:
Go for a walk
Spend time in nature
Do laundry
Wash dishes
Clean the house
Finish a home repair project
Make more food (could be meals for later, and/or fermenting)
Tend the garden
Water plants and trees
Get some exercise, stretching, and cardio
Meditate
Read a book
Take a nap
Spend time with people that you care about
Check in with your neighbours
Pet your dog
In general - unplug from screens. Lower your anxiety.
No matter what - don’t feel guilty. Taking care of yourself is important and comes first.
But any of these activities can be helpful to become more calm and engaged, be productive, and reduce anxiety. Sometimes that is all you can do.
